New Jersey physicians and podiatrists are required to have
CME-approved training in cultural competence.

It’s the law. [1]

 

If your license will renew within the next several months, you have options to fulfill your requirement.          

 

  1. Free internet-based continuing education -
    Physicians & Podiatrists: earn up to 9 CME credits


    Deadline for completion:  December 31, 2009

    The Department of Health and Human Services offers free training at https://cccm.thinkculturalhealth.org/

    “A Physician’s Practical Guide to Culturally Competent Care” – an online interactive tutorial, meets the requirements set forth by the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners

    To qualify for continuing education credit:
    1. Register on the site (see link above)
    2.
    Read the online material
    3.
    Complete the continuing education activity evaluation
    4.
    Complete the post-test and score 70% or higher
